Most of the WhatsApp users already know that WhatsApp is totally owned by Facebook.
However, Facebook thinks that there is not any harm in announcing it publically. Therefore, after more than five years of acquiring WhatsApp its parent company, Facebook is feeling the need to add Facebook’s name in the popular messaging app ‘WhatsApp’. Facebook bought WhatsApp back in the year 2014 for around $ 19 billion, five years ago. Moreover, just after around two years, Facebook took over Instagram as well.
Just after the acquisition of Facebook and WhatsApp, Facebook announced so many changes and updates such as voice calls, stickers, video calls, gif images, end-to-end encryption, as well as new emojis, continuously to make WhatsApp more popular and convenient to use.
In the latest update of WhatsApp in Android devices, which is version 2.19.228, include a small tag at the bottom of the Settings screen, which says that “WhatsApp from Facebook”.
There is no other change at all. There is no name of the parent company Facebook anywhere else. Many people are still in a confusion that what exactly Facebook wants to achieve by doing this?
It might be done as a publicity stunt for making Facebook’s “f” logo popular among the audience.
