Google is dropping its legacy of giving the names to its different android versions same as candies as well as desserts.
As we all know the last android version of Google was named as ‘pie’ and according to the reports, it is the last android version of Google, which is named as a candy or a dessert.
According to the reports, latest android version “Q” is named as “android 10” and not on any kind of candy or dessert.
Google is losing its sweet tooth, as the current Android version will not be on the name of the candy or dessert.
Google is trying to completely switch its practice of naming Android versions after popular desserts and candies.
These are the following android version of Google, which were named after the names of the candies as well as desserts. Names are as follows, Cupcake, Donut, Eclairs, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow, Nougat, Oreo, and Pie, finally, which was the last android version of this category as I mentioned above.
What is the reason behind this step?
According to the reports, Google has said it in an official statement that, “We have heard feedback over the years that the names weren’t always understood by everyone in the global community. For example, L and R are not distinguishable when spoken in some languages. So when some people heard us say Android Lollipop out loud, it wasn’t intuitively clear that it referred to the version after KitKat. It’s even harder for new Android users, who are unfamiliar with the naming convention, to understand if their phone is running the latest version.
